Simeon & Anna
“God Never Forgets You”
Make room for him every day.
“On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, [Jesus means “Savior”] the name the angel [to Mary] had given him before he was conceived.
Angel said to Mary and then to Joseph:
“You [Mary] will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.”
–Lk. 1:31
“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
-Mt. 1:21
22 When the time came for the purification rites [40 days after birth] required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present [Dedicate] him to the Lord, (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”
-Exodus 13:2,12)
-Luke 2:22
11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, 12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him…” 13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.”
-Colossians 2:11-14
24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.” [Poor] 25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. 26 It had been revealed [Not sure when] to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. 27 Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, 28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: 29 “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, [All of God’s promises will be fulfilled] you may now dismiss [Take me home to be with you in heaven] your servant in peace. 30 For my eyes have seen your salvation, 31 which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” 33 The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him. [Since conception] 34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.” 36 There was also a prophet, [Small “p” spoke the word of God as a teacher] Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, 37 and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left [Lived there] the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. 38 Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. [The Jews who were eagerly waiting for the Messiah] 39 When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. 40 And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.”
-Luke 2:22-40

Go With God
Every time we pray, read the Bible, read devotions, listen to Christian music, have Christian conversation with others, we are preparing for the coming of Jesus.
Like Simeon, each day we are getting closer to Jesus’ promise that He will return.
Make sure that you make room for Him every day
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
I can make room for that!
30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope [Wait upon] in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
-Isaiah 40:29-31
“God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
-Philippians 4:19
